In the Shadow of the Iron Throne: A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Rises and Official Trailer is unleashed

December 5th, 2025 mip Trailer

The winds of Westeros stir once more.

Sky has unveiled the official trailer for A KNIGHT OF THE SEVEN KINGDOMS, a new half-hour drama forged in the very spirit of George R. R. Martin’s chronicles. Premiering 19 January on Sky and streaming service NOW, this six-episode saga arrives with the promise of courage, destiny, and the quiet thunder that precedes great legends.

A hundred years before the fall of kings, before rebellion and dragons reborn, two wanderers walked the dusty roads of the Seven Kingdoms—one a humble knight, the other a boy with a secret bloodline that could shake realms.

The Tale Begins

In an age when Targaryens still sat the Iron Throne, and the memory of living dragons had not yet faded into quiet myth, fate bound together an unlikely pair:

Ser Duncan the Tall, naïve of the world but noble in spirit, and
Egg, his small and sharp-eyed squire whose destiny is far greater than his name suggests.

Across war-scarred fields, bustling tourneys, and halls where powerful houses whisper treachery, the two will find friendship, peril, and a path that leads them deeper into the heartbeat of Westeros itself. Great houses rise, tempers flare, and shadows lengthen as destinies intertwine.

A Cast Worthy of the Realm

Bringing this legend to life is a formidable ensemble:

  • Peter Claffey as Ser Duncan “Dunk” the Tall
  • Dexter Sol Ansell as Egg
  • Daniel Ings as Ser Lyonel Baratheon
  • Bertie Carvel as Baelor Targaryen
  • Danny Webb as Ser Arlan of Pennytree
  • Sam Spruell as Maekar Targaryen
  • Shaun Thomas as Raymun Fossoway
  • Finn Bennett as Aerion Targaryen
  • Edward Ashley as Ser Steffon Fossoway
  • Tanzyn Crawford as Tanselle
  • Henry Ashton as Daeron Targaryen
  • Youssef Kerkour as Steely Pate
  • Tom Vaughan-Lawlor as Plummer
  • Daniel Monks as Ser Manfred Dondarrion

Forged by Masters of the Realm

Behind the scenes stand the architects of this new Westerosi chapter:

  • George R. R. Martin – Co-Creator & Executive Producer
  • Ira Parker – Co-Creator, Showrunner & Executive Producer
  • Executive Producers Sarah Bradshaw, Owen Harris, Ryan Condal, Vince Gerardis
  • Directed by Owen Harris and Sarah Adina Smith

On 19 January, the banners are raised.

Steel will clash. Secrets will stir.
And the tale of Dunk and Egg, small in beginning, mighty in legacy, will take its rightful place among the histories of Westeros.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms launches exclusively on Sky and streaming service NOW.
The road awaits… and so does legend.
